Two top bureaucrats, Sanjay Lohiya, and M Angamuthu has been transferred from Assam on September 28. Sanjay Lohiya was the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal. During the rule of Congress, Sanjay Lohiya served in Delhi in the deputation. Soon after the BJP government came to power in Assam, Sanjay Lohiya was brought back to Assam by Sarbananda Sonowal. The Assam-Meghalaya 1994-batch IAS officer has now been appointed as the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines for a tenure of five years. M Angamuthu was holding the office of the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Urban Development, WPT, and BC. Earlier, he also served as the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) district. Angamuthu, a 2002-batch IAS officer has been appointed as the Chairman of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) for a tenure of five years. He will take charge from the 1989 batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre IAS officer PK Borthakur.
