Three Hindu Mahasabha activists including a woman were detained by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Thursday for allegedly trying to offer prayers on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri on the premises of the Taj Mahal. The accused have been identified as Meena Diwakar, provincial president of the organization, district in-charge Jitendra Kushwaha and \u00a0Vishal Singh. Sources say that Meena Diwakar and her supporters performed puja on the Diana bench in the Taj Mahal. The three were over to the local police and they have been booked under IPC section 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on the ground religion, etc) at the Tajganj police station in Agra. Hindu Mahasabha activists staged a protest outside the police station demanding the release of their fellow activists. Speaking to the media, Hindu Mahasabha spokesperson Sanjay Jatt said, \u201cWe have always considered Taj Mahal as Shiv Mandir. Hindu Mahasabha President Meena Diwakar, who had performed aarti earlier, was arrested today by CISF for performing pujas on Maha Shivratri. We demand her immediate release. We have our birthright on Tejo Mahal (Taj Mahal) and the minority community has violated the guidelines of SC by performing namaz inside the monument."
