New Delhi: Within a few days of silence amid the diplomatic-level talks, tension continues to spike along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The Indian Army said that People Liberation Army (PLA) troops are carrying out provocative military movements. According to the official statement by the Army, the PLA troops are carrying out military movements on the Southern bank of Pangong Tso Lake. The current standoff involves thousands of troops from each side in Eastern Ladakh. The Indian Army also added that they strengthening their positions by pre-empting PLA actions in the region. According to Defence spokesperson Col. Aman Anand, PLA troops on the intermediate night of August 29 and 30 violated the consensus. They were carrying out provocative military movements to change the status quo. The standoff started from early May after a massive build-up of Chinese troops along LAC. On August 30, there was also fresh Chinese aggression after a massive movement of troops in the Chushul sector.
