Sports Desk: Bayern Munich on Sunday reached the top of European League football after defeating first-time finalists Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League final at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman’s header in the 59th minute proved to be the difference in the low scoring final.

By winning the UCL final on Sunday, Bayern Munich secured its 6th Champions League trophy. The win ends a UCL drought of seven years for Bayern. The German champions dominated throughout the entire tournament winning all the eleven games they played in. Thereby, Bayern became the first club ever to win all their matches in the history of the competition.

However, for PSG it was a disappointing end to their campaign after a game of wasted chances. Neymar and Kylian Mbappe sat side by side on Paris Saint-Germain’s bench after the loss. While Mbappe stared at the field in despair, Neymar cried and covered his face. It wasn’t the ending they had hoped for.  But there are still positives to take away from an impressive campaign that took the French side to the Champions League final for the first time in club history.
