Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee staged a dharna at Gandhi Murti on Tuesday as a protest against Election Commission’s 24 hours ban.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday imposed a 24 hours ban on the West Bengal Chief Minister. The TMC leader has been banned from campaigning for 24 hours.
This decision ECI to ban the TMC supremo was taken after Mamata Banerjee’s remarks against Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
She has been barred from campaigning from 8 pm on April 12 to 8 pm on April 13.

The West Bengal Chief Minister has termed Election Commission’s decision as “unconstitutional” and announced to hold a protest in Kolkata on Tuesday.
“To protest against the undemocratic and unconstitutional decision of the Election Commission of India, I will sit on dharna tomorrow at Gandhi Murti, Kolkata from 12 noon.” the TMC leader Twitted.
