On Wednesday, in a span of 24 hours, the number of new Covid-19 cases in India has hit a record daily high since the outbreak of the pandemic with over 1.15 lakhs new cases.
As per Union Health Ministry, this has pushed the nationwide COVID-19 tally to 1,28,01,785.
In the last three days, the single-day rise in Covid-19 cases has breached the record of one lakh mark for the second time.

The country witnessed a total of 1,15,736 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours.

• Meanwhile, 59,856 people were discharged in the last 24 hours.
• The total active caseload in the country stands at 8,43,473.
• A total of 1,17,92,135 people have recovered so far from the deadly disease.
The previous highest Covid-19 new cases reported in 24 hours was 1,03,844 on April 5.
New Covid-19 cases daily count on April 6 stood at 96,982.
Over the past few days, with some exceptions, India has been posting near one lakh cases per day, becoming the only country after the US and Brazil to post a six-figure caseload in a single day.
