News Desk: On July 22, 2020, the Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Air Force Commander’s Conference (AFCC) at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan). Rajnath Singh was welcomed by the Chief of Air Staff, RKS Bhadauria, and other senior officials of the Ministry of Defense (MoD).
The Defense Minister appreciated the proactive response by the Indian Air Force (AIF) in bolstering its operational capabilities over the past few months. He also stated that the professional manner in which IAF conducted the airstrikes in Balakot, as well as the rapid deployment of IAF assets at forwarding locations in response to the prevailing situation in Eastern Ladakh, has sent a strong message to the enemies.
Rajnath Singh stated that the nation’s resolve to defend its sovereignty stands firm on the faith its people have in the capability of Indian Armed Forces.
The Defense Minister also praised the stellar contribution by the Indian Air Force in supporting the nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the role played during several hard missions.
Rajnath Singh concluded by acknowledging IAF’s role in adapting to changes in technology and adopting emerging capabilities in Nano Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber and Space domains.
He assured the Commanders that all requirements of the Armed Forces will be fulfilled. Be it financial or otherwise.
The Chief of Air Staff in his address to the Commanders stated that the IAF was well prepared to counter short term as well as strategic threats. He emphasized the need to focus on the ability to handle situations at a short notice for a robust response.
During the three-day conference, the Commanders will review the current operational scenario and deployments. Building the IAF capabilities in the next decade to tackle all emerging threats.
