Assam Rifles Deploys First Ever Women Soldiers Along LoC

News Desk: Assam Rifles achieved another feat by deploying Rifle Women along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir. Women soldiers of Assam Rifles deployed for the first time in history in Kashmir. This action has made a positive impact on the local populace.

The smiling faces of the locals is a testimony of professionalism of the Riflewomen.


The Assam Rifles is considered as one of the oldest Paramilitary forces of India. Nearly 6 rifle women have been tasked to guard the road going towards LoC. They are led by a woman officer of the Indian Army.

These 6 rifle women are deployed at an altitude of 10,000 feet at the Sadhana Pass of the LoC. They are tasked to search each and every vehicle carrying woman passengers. The women platoon has also been tasked to check the smuggling of narcotics, fake currency, and weapons through the Sadhana Pass.


It has been a year since the Indian Parliament revoked Article 370 in the J&K. Since then the security forces have largely managed to stabilize the situation.

As per the data, after the abrogation, the number of youth joining terror groups dropped by 40 percent. The year only witnessed 67 youth taking to terror.
