First Oxygen Express Carrying Medical Oxygen Reaches Assam

OThe first Oxygen Express carrying 80 metric tonnes of oxygen reached Assam on Sunday.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma formally received the train carrying four containers of medical oxygen of a total of 80 metric tonnes (MT).

The oxygen-carrying train started its journey from Jamshedpur and reached its final destination at Inland Container Depot, Amingaon, Guwahati.
Talking to the media, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his gratitude to PM Narendra Modi for allocation the additional medical oxygen. This will strengthen the state’s oxygen stock amid the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic.

On behalf of people of Assam, I express our sincere gratitude to the GOI for sending 80 MT medical #Oxygen through #OxygenExpress.
This bolsters our confidence & our oxygen stock in a critical time. @PMOIndia @PiyushGoyal” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Twitted.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also informed that the oxygen train will come twice a week to Assam carrying medical oxygen.
“Oxygen is the most potent weapon to fight COVID pandemic.
