CM orders better treatment of NLFB cadres, welcomes peace talks

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma has reacted to the ill-treating of National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB) chief M Batha after his first surrender. His reaction came after meeting NLFB cadres including Batha at the Assam Administrative Authority College.

“How will Assam police treat whom, that is determined by the political leadership. Now I have told the Director-General of Police that they should be treated as well as boys in the house”, the CM said. CM also stated that Bathai had come to peace talks after EPIN declared a ceasefire and that if they surrender they will feel bad and there is no point in insisting on them. As soon as the NlFB returns, peace will come to the land, with this there will be no rebel organization from Guwahati to Srirampur, the CM said.

While meeting NLFB chief M Batha at Assam Administrative Authority College the CM said that this move will play a strong role in restoring the peaceful environment to the state and will play a strong role in making the state terrorism-free including in Bodoland.
