Pradyut Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the Tripura royal demands justice for Sumila Ronghanpi,a12 years old maid who was sexually abused and brutally murdered by burning to death by her employers
The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) chief Pradyut Manikya in a post on Twitter tagged Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who is also in charge of the Home Department of the state.
“What happened to Sumila is not just a shame but a dark reality on how young women girls are taken to urban places and kept as slaves’ #Justice for Sumila Ronghanpi. The government of Assam must act”, he wrote.

Sumila Ronghanpi, a 12 years old minor who was working as a maid, was brutally murdered on the evening of April22 in Raha, Assam.
Prakash Borthakur, the person for whom she was working, and his son Nayanjyoti Borthakur, of them, were arrested by Nagaon Police and in the investigation, it came to notice that the victim had died before she was charred.
Later, the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR) had declared that the minor girl was sexually abused before getting killed which resulted in her pregnancy.
The victim belonged to Sar Kro Kudam Ronghang village in West Karbi Anglong, Assam
