Legendary Assamese Music mystro Indreswar Sarma passes away

Jorhat 09.06.2020: In a sad demise, legendary Assamese music mystro Indreswar Sarma dies at 90 in Jorhat today. He breathed his last at his own home surrounded by his family member.
He was a great violin player. He was the first all India radio approved Assamese violinist. The notations of Assamese Anthem “O Mur Apunar Dekh” and the theme song of Assam Sahitya Sabha “Siro Senehi” was done by him. He also was awarded the Silpi Bota by the Assam Government.
Today Assam lost a legendary Musician. His death is a big loss to the Assamese music industry. He made a place for himself in the hearts of many people of Assam. People pay tribute to him in his home town. We all are deeply saddened by his demise and pray for eternal peace of the departed soul.
