Amidst the Covid 19 pandemic, the Government of Assam informed that the breakout of Covid 19 third wave is ‘inevitable’.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday informed that children and teenagers below the age of 18 are more prone in the third wave of Covid 19.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press stated –
“The third wave of Covid 19 in Assam is inevitable. This time, it is most likely to affect children and teenagers below the age 18.
This time the adults are less likely to get affected as most people above the age of 18 got vaccinated. So obviously the children and teenagers are likely to get affected the most.
The third wave of Covid 19 pandemic is likely to start due to the fault of people and people returning from other states.”
“However, there is a positive side as children and teenagers are more immune to diseases. Maximum Covid deaths occur due to comorbidities.
Most children and teenagers below the age 18 do not have comorbidities.” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma further informed.
Our efforts to contain #COVID19 continue. We must now lower the vigil.

Speaking to the media, Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta informed –
“We’re ready for the third wave of Covid 19 pandemic. Since the third wave is likely to affect children the worst, we’ve equipped each of our hospitals with ICU beds for children.”
With the aim to inoculate 3 lakh people per day starting today, the enhanced #VaccinationDrive is in full swing. The Govt. of Assam is working diligently to ensure smooth running of the process.
