Confusion Still Lingers Over Assam State Board HS and HSLC Exams

Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta on Wednesday informed that decision on conducting Assam State Board HS and HSLC exams will be taken on June 18.

While addressing a press meet in Janata Bhawan, the state Health Minister stated –
“Given the present Covid 19 situation of Assam, the Health Department cannot give permission to hold exams offline.
The Cabinet, keeping in view of present exam modality, has advised that conducting exams offline is not possible.
On June 18, the Education Department along with its stake holders will declare the final decision.”

During the meeting, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta informed that a total of 4,40,000 students will appear in Assam State Board HSLC and High Madrassa exams.
Moreover, a total of 2,50,000 students will appear in the Higher Secondary examination.

“A total of almost Seven lakhs students will appear in the HSLC and HS examination. Given the present Covid 19 situation in Assam, it is not preferable to conduct examination.” minister Mahanta stated.
