CM Himanta Biswa Sarma instructs revival of various schemes

State Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday visited Handloom, Textile and Sericulture department in Guwahati.
CM Himanta took stock of various schemes and activities of the department.

In the meeting, minister UG Brahma was also present.
During the meet, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma issued instructions to the department. The key instructions issued are –
To transform the department into a potent platform for weavers of the State.
Revisit the ‘Yarn Bank Scheme’ to maximise benefit to weavers.
Development of extensive forward and backward market linkages for weavers.
Supply of quality yarn to weavers, upgrade their skills and provide them direct access to the market.
Revive ARTFED and set up display counters for handloom products at Assam Bhawans and different cities.

Taking to Twitter, the official page of Chief Minister of Assam informed –
“CM Dr @himantabiswa visited Handloom & Textiles and Sericulture dept & reviewed various activities/schemes of the dept with officials in the presence of Minister @UGBrahma.”
