Electronic Voting Machines (EVM)s have broken down at several polling stations in the Dispur constituency of the Kamrup Metropolitan district during the polling.

People had to wait for a long time due to EVM failure at Nartap polling station in Sonapur twice. The incident took place at the right-wing of Nartap Lower-Primary School No. 331.

A similar incident occurred at EVM No. 229 of Digaru Seniram LP School in Sonapur.

In addition, multiple Electronic Voting Machine failures have also been reported from Malibagan LP school polling station in Sonapur, Kamarkuchi, Sonaigaon and many other polling stations.

Even though the machines were fixed later, the people in the station were outraged due to the long wait.

Polling is underway in 40 constituencies in the third and final phase of the Assam Assembly Polls which began at 7 AM.
