Interest-free loans for a duration of three months will be provided by the Assam government to private hospitals to buy COVID-19 vaccines, health minister Keshab Mahanta said on Friday.
“The government cannot buy 25 percent vaccines of total stock. So we are providing loans to the private hospitals,” Mahanta said.
Health minister Mahanta informed that the maximum period for the repayment of interest-free loans is three months.
The decision has been taken to ramp up the vaccination programme in the state.
