Assam Govt. Inducts Special Task Force to Prevent Poaching in Kaziranga

To prevent Rhino poaching in Kaziranga National Park, the Assam Government on Thursday has decided to introduce Special Task Force.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during his review on the safety of animals at Kaziranga Nation Park has directed officials to intensify action against poaching and also increase the conviction rate of poachers.

The CM also took part in a review meeting organized in view of the upcoming flood season.
• Forest Minister – Parimal Suklabaidya
• Agricultural Minister – Atul Bora
• Finance Minister – Ajanta Neog
Health Minister – Keshab Mahanta
• Assam Legislative Assembly – Numal Momin
• Political Secretary to CM – Jayanta Malla Baruah were also present at the meeting.
Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, officials of forest and veterinary departments of Golaghat, Nagaon, Sonitpur, Biswanath, and Karbi Anglong were also present at the review meeting.

Assam Government has also decided to increase the amount of ration for the forest staff. All the staff will also receive vaccination on priority.
