Adequate Domestic LPGs Available, IOCL Clarifies

News Desk: It has been reported by a section of the media that there is a possibility of a scarcity of domestic LPG in the market due to a probable strike by the LPG transporters of North Guwahati Bottling Plant of Indian Oil.
Indian Oil issued a clarification and assured its consumers that adequate domestic LPG is available and there is no possibility of a scarcity of domestic LPG as on date.

Indian Oil also informed that there is no strike notice from any transporter. No steps have been taken by Indian Oil management which jeopardizes the interests of the local people or LPG transporters in any way. All processes are as per documented guidelines and governed by the tender terms and conditions, which is a part of the transportation contract.

Addressing the issue, Chief General Manager & State Head of Indian Oil in the North East, G Ramesh said, “We have a transparent system of resolving complaints wherein people are encouraged to approach us with specifics so that issues if any are resolved in a manner that is fair to all stakeholders.”
“So there is no question of shortage of Indane LPG and Indian Oil will ensure that the supply chain is maintained. In fact, today the average time taken to deliver a refill in Assam has been reduced from 10 days to 2 days even though there were a lot of operational constraints during the lockdown. This is despite the fact that the demand for LPG has increased due to the 3 free LPG refills provided under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna (PMGKY). Our LPG Bottling plants including North Guwahati are working additional shifts to ensure that all the demand in the market is met completely.” said the Chief General Manager.
