In a major turn of events, two of the three abducted employees of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) have been rescued by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles.

The rescue was done in the Mon District of Nagaland. The two rescued abductees are:
• Alakesh Saikia and
• Mohini Mohan Gogoi.
As per information, one AK 47 was also recovered from the rescue site.

The joint operation by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles began late Friday night.
Earlier on Friday evening, Assam Police arrested 14 linkmen and sympathizers of the United Liberation Front of Asom- Independent (ULFA-I) in connection with the abduction of the three ONGC employees.

The three ONGC employees were abducted at the early hours of April 21 (Wednesday) from a worksite in Charaideo district of Assam.
